The Berkeley Lacrosse Club's goal is to provide boys and girls the opportunity to learn and play the wonderful sport of lacrosse. We have players from Berkeley, Albany, Kensington, El Cerrito, Richmond, El Sobrante, San Pablo, and Hercules.

NEW! Discounted Sticks available for purchase!

In an effort to make sure kids have a solid stick of their own to use, BLC has arranged for a bulk purchase discount on well-functioning beginner sticks for girls and boys for only $40.  Order one from our Online Store and pick it up in Berkeley so your player can start getting the feel of the stick before Spring Season starts

The Berkeley Lacrosse Club believes access to gear should not be a barrier for families whose children want to try lacrosse. As such, the club invests in a robust if limited supply of quality gear and makes it available for economical rates to club families. The club relies on the goodwill of its families to rent and renew gear with full payment in a timely manner and currently does not have a late fee for rentals that are not returned on time. However, that could change if we continue to have to replace unreturned gear.

Players who are looking to elevate their play are encouraged to invest in their own gear, starting with a stick.  Our Local Sponsor Sports Basement sells lacrosse gear as do many online outlets.  For knowledgeable lacrosse expertise, visit our friends at SlingIt! in Danville or San Rafael.

Your coach would be happy to discuss gear recommendations.

Note about girl's helmets

There is no clear consensus on an increase in player safety with helmets in girl's lacrosse.  As both the national US Lacrosse and local NCJLA have decided girl's helmets are optional, BLC does not offer girl's helmets for rent at this time.   Should you feel strongly about your daughter wearing one, please feel free to purchase an approved lacrosse helmet.   If you need guidance around the purchase or the fit, we will be happy to help, or visit SlingIt! to try one of the three available options.

We will continue to reevaluate and should we start to require helmets for our young women, we will include the equipment as part of our gear rental program.

Note about boys shoulder pads

Beginning in 2022, US Lacrosse boys’ field players, NFHS boys’ field players, and NCAA men’s field players must also wear chest protection that meets the NOCSAE ND200 standard.  Some manufacturers have already begun to introduce chest protection for boys’ field players into the marketplace. US Lacrosse encourages field players of all ages to begin using protection as soon as they can, rather than waiting for the 2022 mandate.

For your use, here is a Lacrosse Equipment Fitting Guide provided by US Lacrosse.
